On March 5, 2015 Harrison Ford was hospitalized with a broken pelvis and head gash due being involved in an airplane crash. He was flying around and experienced an emergency situation. He ended up going for a crash landing on a golf course, but managed to survive the wreck. However, due to his injuries, he needed to be hospitalized in critical care. According to an article originally posted on people.com and later posted again reddit.com, Harrison Ford was released and spotted driving around throughout Los Angeles this past Saturday.
Haidar Barbouti has learned that, apparently, Ford’s most frequent visitor was his wife, Calista Flockhart (who is amazingly now 50 years old). Everyday Calista took care of her at home responsibilities, but then brought food and spent the rest of the day with her husband throughout his recovery period.
I fully respect Harrison Ford for all his many accomplishments as an actor and pilot. And though he appears to be fully in control of his physical being, I have to wonder at what point we should force retire individuals from flying planes. Nothing against the great man, simply a question to think about. Obviously, people age at different rates, and some individuals are in better health and shape at his age in the 70s than many people half his age, so it may not be Ford’s time. Just a thought.
