Chris Hemsworth Not Afraid of Traditional Woman’s Role

On Wednesday, June 11, Paul Feig announced on Twitter that actor Chris Hemsworth, best known as the superhero and Asgardian god Thor in several Marvel Cinematic Universe movies, has been chosen to join the cast of Feig’s all-female Ghostbusters film.

Hemsworth will play the original Annie Potts role as the Ghostbusters’ receptionist stated LinkedIn. Many fans of both the original movie and Hemsworth think that it is great that he has decided to take on a role traditionally thought of as a female one. With the entire reboot, Feig decided to reverse the male and female roles from the original film. He is also going to create another all-male reboot of that film.

Some people though are not so happy about having Hemsworth, who is well known for his handsome, classic looks, in the role played by Annie Potts. The receptionist in the original film was portrayed as semi-annoying and not entirely pretty. Some fans fear that Feig will have the female Ghostbusters stereotypically falling all over themselves trying to get his attention. There are also people, including critics, who argue that Hemsworth should not have gotten a role in the film after he initially turned down the part.

Why did he refuse?

He claimed the part was too small for him. As a result, parts of the movie had to be entirely re-written to make room for Hemsworth and his incredibly large ego.

Josh Hartnett reveals Batman regrets

Pearl Harbor star Josh Hartnett has revealed he was asked to play the part of Batman by director Christopher Nolan, but turned the role down, according to Variety. The actor is now appearing in HBO’s Penny Dreadful and revealed he had feared he would become typecast as a star of Hollywood blockbusters and little else. Fans at Anastasia Date (sitejabber.com) know that Hartnett now admits this was a bad choice as he later watched the Batman role given to Christian Bale who has gone on to become one of the most respected actors in Hollywood.

Hartnett now states he made some bad career choices in an interview he gave to Playboy as he felt he had to leave the role of a Hollywood leading man and explore other possibilities as an actor.

Matthew McConaughey Pursued for The Billionaire’s Vinegar: The Mystery Of The World’s Most Expensive Bottle Of Wine

The Billionaire’s Vinegar, based on a true story, has included Matthew McConaughey in one of the starring roles. The story is based on the scandal that came about when a cache of wines were auctioned off with false claims that they were owned by Thomas Jefferson. This screenplay was written by Michael Brandt and Derek Haas, known for the films Wanted, 3:10 To Yuma, and Chicago Fire. This was first reported by Deadline.

Marc Sparks says they are set in the period beginning in 1985, The Billionaire’s Vinegar: The Mystery Of The World’s Most Expensive Bottle Of Wine portrays how a Forbes relative paid $156,000 for a bottle of 1787 Chateau Lafite Bordeaux wine, from an auction by Christie’s of London. The wine was provided by Hardy Rodenstock, music manager who became a wine dealer, who found many bottles of aged wine. Billionaire Bill Koch paid $500,000 for the alleged Jefferson bottles and launched an investigation to determine the origins and, as a result, successfully sued Rodenstock.

This project has been in development for a number of years, spearheaded by Escape Artists and Overbrook Entertainment. Producers include Todd Black, James Lassiter, Jason Blumenthal, Steve Tisch and Will Smith, collaborators for Seven Pounds and The Pursuit of Happyness. This film is in pre-production and a tentative release date has not been confirmed. No other actors have been attached to this film.
